What went on at Thanksgiving in the recent historical past of Palo Pinto County? Holiday events countywide

Hi Y’all! It’s Thanksgiving week and oh, the blessings we have! I so hope that all of you are as thankful as I am to be born an American and in this great state! I am thankful for my faith and my church family. Thankful for my family and friends, the roof over my head, and the food in my belly.

THE IDLE AMERICAN

Umpteen years ago, I entitled a speech—cleverly I thought at the time—”From Adam’s Rib to Women’s Lib.” I provided more details than audiences wanted to know, explaining that with such an expansive title, maybe I wouldn’t wander too far off track. It was admittedly a weak joke, probably not warranting so much as a grin from women who were digging in heels on matters relative to equality.
