The first Friday in February (Feb. 3) is National Wear Red Day. On this day, which is considered American Heart Month, everyone across the country dons the color red in order to raise and spread awareness in hopes to help eradicate heart disease and stroke in millions of women all over the nation. Only about half of women recognize that heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. Known as a silent killer, it often goes undiagnosed until problems (like a heart attack) arise.

MWHS Rams soccer team competed in a tournament in Wichita Falls Thursday through Saturday where they ended the weekend with one win, two losses and one tied game. The Rams started the weekend facing off with Snyder which ended in a 2-2 tie, then Friday played Fort Worth Boswell and Lubbock Coronado where they split those games, losing to Boswell, 3-0 but beating Coronado 5-0. Their final game of the tournament was a tough match up with Amarillo West Plains where they fell just short in a 3-2 finish.
