MINERAL WELLS — The Mineral Wells City Council and the Palo Pinto County Municipal Water District No. 1 Board of Directors met to discuss the creation of a regional water authority.

Santo ISD school board discusses a future including volleyball in their athletics department
SANTO — Santo ISD School board began discussions of adding volleyball to their girls athletic department at their latest meetings. Superintendent Greg Gilbert told Palo Pinto Press, “Administration provided additional info to the Board regarding the consideration of adding volleyball to girl’s athletics. The school has collected info, surveys, and a parent meeting over the last 4 months and a decision by the Board is expected at the February meeting.” PPP will update as we get more information on this subject and look forward to the decision made by Santo ISD.
Community Christian School alumni making a name at the college level
Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County has had its fair share of talented students and athletes. So this will hopefully be the first of many articles in the Palo Pinto Press that will showcase some of those athletes from our area. First up is a 2021 Community Christian School graduate and state champion, Elaina Buchanan.
Early morning crash kills MW man, injures three others
MINERAL WELLS — Kieren Davis, 20, of Mineral Wells, lost his life following a single-vehicle fatal accident shortly before 2 a.m., in the 3100 block of Municipal Highway 379, on Sunday, Jan. 22, according to Lt. Darby Thomas.
Santo EMS contract discussions continue
SANTO — Despite the most recent Santo EMS proposed 2023 budget/contract being slashed $104,320 from a previous proposal, Palo Pinto County ESD No. 2 board members say they want to continue talks regarding the fiscal plan.
