Rabies cases on rise in county

The Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to be cautious around wild animals after two positive cases of rabies were confirmed recently, the first in the county in about three years. The Texas Department of State Health Services laboratory in Austin informed the Sheriff’s Office that the rabies cases were found in one skunk and one cat in the Gordon/Mingus area.
