MINERAL WELLS = The Rams have quite a bit to celebrate and brag about this week, and Athletic Director Cody Worrell gave us a brief update on all of the things happening in Ram Land.
First up he celebrated the start of the Rams and Lady Rams basketball seasons by saying, “Basketball got their seasons started off this past week! The Lady Rams won their home opener this past Friday against R.L. Turner High School with a score of 81-10! With the win, in brings the Lady Rams season record to 1-1 on the season! The Boys Basketball team fell short in their home opener last Saturday against a tough Wichita Falls Memorial squad! Both the Rams & Lady Rams will host home games this Tuesday! The Lady Rams will host Azle, while the Rams will host Poolville!”
Next up was the big news from the football field, as Worrell added, “Football got a big victory last Friday night in Burkburnett to close out the regular season! The Rams will travel to Weatherford this Friday night to take on Benbrook in the Bi-District Championship game!”
Also happening at Ram Stadium, Worrell added that Mineral Wells will be hosting playoff games as a neutral site for other teams as well, “On Thursday night, the Bi-District game between Era & Albany will be held at Ram Stadium starting at 7:00 p.m. On Friday night, MWISD will be hosting Wichita Falls City & Clifton in their Bi-District playoff game!” That is a big deal for our community as football fans from those areas will be visiting Mineral Wells, not just for the football, but for meals and shopping as well. Let’s welcome them to our area well.
Check back next week to stay up to date on all the happenings from the Mineral Wells Athletic Department.
