Christmas comes to Santo

SANTO—When we hear the term “Hometown Christmas” many of us remember our childhood and the way our town looked at Christmas time.

The decorations, the window displays and talking to Santa. I can still taste the scrumptious candy, cookies and gingerbread men that Mama wouldn’t let us eat any other time of year.

Santo, Texas has made this all a reality.

Through the efforts of the Santo Community Association, Santo makes a hometown Christmas come to life as if in a Hallmark movie!

The Santo’s Hometown Christmas will take place on Saturday, Dec.14 and is free for all to enjoy! Santo, population 940, is a quintessential small town big on hospitality. It’s located in the southern part of Palo Pinto County.

  • Food trucks on site from 1 to 8 p.m.

Santo Community Association’s efforts are not limited to the Hometown Christmas. Under the leadership of Alisha Collins and committee members, they host the homecoming dance, award a scholarship to a Santo senior, and manage the town’s banners and Christmas lights.

Their goals for 2025 are to undertake a new community project and explore hosting a family fun run in downtown Santo. Future plans also include tackling a significant community improvement project each year.
