MINERAL WELLS — It’s a busy and exciting time for the Rams and Lady Rams, and Athletic Director, Cody Worrell gave us an update on the happenings this past week and a sneak peek at what is coming up.
First out of the gate, the Lady Rams volleyball team is playing a tough schedule of opponents in preparation for their upcoming district matchups. Worrell gave an update on some big games the Lady Rams have played recently, explaining, “To say the Lady Rams have been battle tested is an understatement after last week! Both of their opponents were very solid squads that will hopefully prepare us for our district opponents! The Lady Rams are set to play this Friday in Wichita Falls against another 5A opponent in Memorial High School starting at 4:30 p.m.!”
The next update came from the Rams and Lady Rams cross country squads, which have been bringing home some hardware, and this week was no different. Worrell bragged on the runners saying, “Cross-Country had yet another great showing this week as they traveled to Pilot Point! Both the Varsity & JV Boys won FIRST place! The Varsity & JV Girls had great showings as well.”
Tennis is keeping the courts hot, with weekly match ups with great opponents. This week they faced off with Peaster just falling short, as Worrell explained, “Tennis got beat by state ranked Peaster this past week, but they showed a lot of improvement! Tennis is currently 2-2 in their district standings! Good luck Tennis!”
From the gridiron came a homecoming game recap from the head coach Worrell. “It was a tale of two halves for Football this week! The Rams got off to a slow start against Fort Worth Eastern Hills and were down 7-8 at half. In the second half the Rams outscored the highlanders 35-6, to take a 42-14 victory in their Homecoming Game!”
