An official statement from Mineral Wells ISD Superintendent David Tarver was released stemming from a recent investigation launched by the Texas Education Agency regarding possible cheating occurring during teaching certification exams.

Tarver commented, “Mineral Wells ISD was made aware of an employee whose Texas Educator Certification was under review due to allegations stemming from the current investigation centered on a Houston based ‘teacher-certification cheating scheme.’ The employee has been placed on administrative leave while the district consults with our attorney and investigates the allegations internally. The district will cooperate fully with the Texas Education Agency in their investigation.”

Other reports claim that over 100 educators from around the state, including about half of them being in north Texas, and several others in the Houston area, are involved in some way.

We will update the story as we receive more information in regard to the status of the educator and the investigation.
