PALO PINTO COUNTY — Two Palo Pinto County teams are ranked amongst the top of their divisions in the state of Texas, where football rules all things.
The Gordon Longhorns are no surprise on the list of top teams in D1 Six-man football after going undefeated and beating every team they faced by the 45-point mercy rule, including their win in the state championship game at AT&T Stadium. They are favored highly this season to repeat, but that also puts a huge target on their backs for their opponents.
Another local team that found themselves ranked among the best is the Community Christian Warriors. They found themselves at No. 3 on the TAIAO D3 list from sixmanfootball.com. CCS is coming in as a little bit of an underdog after a 6-4 season in 2023 where they had an early exit in the playoffs with a loss to Faustina Academy in Irving. It is not the first time this Warrior team has been the underdog, and they know just how to rise to the occasion, so this season should be an exciting one for CCS fans.
