Books for kids, grants for teachers

Dear Palo Pinto County Residents,

Happy New Year! A great way to begin 2025 is to help the students and teachers of OUR county. The Palo Pinto County Retired Teachers Association gives books to kids AND grants to teachers.

In the past, books were given to every 1st, 3rd and 5th grader in the county. Last year only first graders got books.

We need everyone’s help! You can make a donation. It can be in memory of someone or in honor of someone OR because you will help. (Send your donations to the address below)

We are having a silent auction to raise funds for classroom grants on Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. at Southside Church of Christ. COME!

Bring some soup or sandwiches or dessert and items to add to the auction fun. (Five teachers got grants last fall.)

Did you get a raise in your check from Teachers Retirement System (TRS) last year AND are you thankful the Social Security Fairness Act passed? It costs money to send people to Austin and Washington.

Show your appreciation by supporting that advocacy! Join Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA.)

Anyone can join. Send dues ($35+$5=$40.00) to 3459 N FM 129, Santo, Texas, 76472.

LOTS of opportunities to help Students and Teachers!

Thank you in advance,

Frana Patterson
