PALO PINTO COUNTY—Finding places to get mental health services can be challenging, and even more so in rural areas like Palo Pinto County.
As extreme heat blankets communities in Palo Pinto County, the American Red Cross DFW Metro West Chapter is asking residents to take three steps to stay safe: slow down, stay hydrated and spend time indoors.
The Palo Pinto County Humane Society offers a free spay/neuter cat program through the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection. There is a waiting list.

PARKER COUNTY—A Springtown woman was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2005 Nissan Frontier she was driving crashed with another vehicle on Highway 199 on June 14, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
