MINERAL WELLS – It’s show season for Palo Pinto County youngsters.
The Palo Pinto County Livestock Show and Fair kicks off Jan. 7 with rabbit weigh-in and show, followed by broilers, sheep, goats, swine and calves – and that’s just the animals!
There will also be an ag mechanic project show, a horticulture project show and of course the World’s Greatest Showman show. All coming to an end with the premium sale on Jan. 11. If you are new to the area and have never seen a livestock show or county fair, come on out to the Palo Pinto County Livestock Association Expo Building on the rodeo grounds and watch our county kids “show”.
But that’s not all! On the other side of the rodeo arena, the Palo Pinto County Fair will be going on inside the Sheriff’s Posse Building. Here you will find competition in the areas of art, photography, needlework, quilting and sewing, hobbies and crafts, baked goods and candy, shop and tack, canned goods and a kiddies division.
For more information and registration go to www.palopintocounty.fairentry.com or email l-babcock@tamu.edu. Come out and support these folks at the County Fair!
All will culminate at the Premium Sale on Jan. 11 at 9:30 a.m. All Grand Champions will be auctioned off.
There are many sponsors and buyers who give generously to help these kids with their projects. Thanks to all who support them.
Much more next week on the winners!
