The basketball season has come to an end, but there is one more game left to play for several area ballers.
The 34th annual Chicken Express All-Star Classic is set for Saturday afternoon, March 22, at Mineral Wells High School. The girls will tip-off at 2 p.m. and the boys will follow, scheduled for 4 p.m.
This years stacked teams will include local athletes like Kahlea Samples and Charlie Ramsay from Mineral Wells, Ava Hawkins from Gordon, Lauren Morris and Jack McCormick from Perrin-Whitt, and Corbett Southern and Carson Crouch of Millsap.
Other athletes competing will be coming from Dublin, Ranger, Eastland, Brock, Glen Rose, Newcastle, Castleberry, Azle, Peaster, Vernon, Aledo, and more. Nominations for this game come from a total of 59 schools and 23 counties. This year, 32 of the 59 teams are represented.
Entry cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Arrive early as it is expected to be a full house and a great game.
This game is expected to attract college scouts, as has been the case in past games. Many athletes have been recruited after their efforts on the court at the annual game and this year should be no different.
