Bill Hinkson, past president of the Palo Pinto County Sheriffs Posse, holds a donkey safely out of traffic lanes on Hwy. SH 16 approximately one mile north of the City of Strawn shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. The second donkey, following closely behind the jenny, is focusing his attention on a third escapee, a senior horse who was still avoiding capture at the time the photo was taken. Ownership of the three strays was not known immediately. Hinkson reported the situation to the PPC Sheriffs Office for assistance and contacted Strawn Mayor Danny Miller in the hope of determining from which pasture the three equine gang members escaped.
