MINERAL WELLS – Turkey Peak Reservoir is the topic of the Palo Pinto County Republican Women’s Club meeting and luncheon, Oct. 25.
Municipal Water District No. 1 General Manager Howard Huffman is scheduled as the keynote speaker and will provide an overview and update on the new lake’s progress. Huffman is responsible for the assessment, budgetary development and implementation of the district’s raw water infrastructure efforts.
The planned reservoir will be downstream of the area’s main water source, Lake Palo Pinto. It’s expected to increase water capacity by 83%, according to project engineers. Construction is set to begin in March 2025 and wrap up in 2028.
The luncheon is open to the public and scheduled from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Mineral Wells Woman’s Club, 201 NE 2nd St. Tickets are $20.
