MINERAL WELLS—Move over Grinch, the Merry Wells Festival is back and it’s bigger and better than ever.
More than 3,000 cocoa-sipping visitors turned out for the annual holiday festivities on Nov. 30, according to Main Street Manager Brittany Brown.
And approximately 500 Yuletide fans showed up for the tree lighting the night before on Nov. 29, she added. The stately evergreen’s spark of twinkling magic was administered by Grayson Roach, son of Jacy and Ryan Roach who head up the Merry Wells festival and parade committee.
Brown said the robust attendance not only spreads Christmas cheer, it also spreads Christmas green.
“The goal is to drive foot traffic to our downtown area during December and encourage people to shop small,” Brown explained. “We also want to provide opportunities for our community to get out and enjoy the holiday season together.”

Visitors and businesses have all month to enjoy and benefit from Merry Wells events and activities, including:
- Snow Hill – Slide into the holidays in style.
- Christmas Tree Maze – Meander through the lighted Christmas Tree Maze with lots of selfie spots
- Photos with Santa – Have you been good this year? Visit St. Nick at the Santa House from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. nightly until Christmas Eve. The Santa House is located at 1202 N. Oak Ave. The man in red will also be at The Crazy Water Hotel every Saturday in December, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
