The Mineral Wells COG selected Rams junior Jackson Hicks as the week 5 player of the week.

Hicks had a pair of solo tackles, two assisted tackles and a quarterback sack on defense, as well as three carries on the offense for 13 yards in the Rams first loss of the season to a tough Godley team.

Hicks has been a catalyst on the defense for the Rams, making big stops and bringing tons of energy to the field and the sidelines. The Rams will get a week off of game action this week but will resume play next Friday to begin district play.

Mineral Wells will host Bridgeport at 7 p.m. on Oct. 11 at Ram Stadium for the kickoff of the five-week district schedule.
