Better late than never!

The Mineral Wells Church of God Player of the week from week one of Ram football was Preston “PR” Mendez. Mendez had six carries for 75 yards and a touchdown on offense, as well as three solo tackles that sealed the deal for his selection in the week one match up with FW Polytechnic.

Week two went to Kayden Montalvo for his big night consisting of 16 carries on offense, rushing for 110 yards and scoring two touchdowns against Iowa Park. On the defensive side, Montalvo also contributed a solo tackle, two assisted tackles, one sack, and a tackle for lost yards.

MWCOG Pastor, Jerrell Tomlin told us that the week three pick will be released early next week, so check back for that official announcement. Here’s a hint, he was a recipient of the award last season and it’s no surprise he is this weeks pick after his play against FW Eastern Hills on homecoming night.
