Rams at a Glance from Cody Worrell

Rams head coach Cody Worrell gave us another exciting update on all the happenings for the Rams and Lady Rams.

Worrell started the update with volleyball, bragging on their weekend in Sanger, “The Lady Rams went 1-2 on day one of the tournament, beating Gainesville and dropping two matches to Sanger & Red River. The girls bounced back on Saturday going 3-0 on the day, with wins against S&S Consolidated, Little Elm, and Arlington Seguin!” He added that they followed up by also winning a close game against Benbrook at MWHS in five sets. He finished his Lady Ram volleyball report with the news of their Florida tournament. The Lady Rams are set to match up with teams from all over the country in Orlando at Universal Studios this weekend for their final tournament of the season.

In other news, the Rams and Lady Rams tennis and cross country teams each competed and competed well, with tennis claiming their first match of the year to start the season 1-0. They defeated the new Eagle Mountain High team and will face Brock this week in a tough district match. Cross country competed in Hillsboro, with the varsity boys claiming first place overall and the girls finishing 7th. Next up they will run in Midlothian at the James Smith Invitational.

Football is the big story this week, as week one is underway. Worrell gave a brief update from Ram Stadium, “Football finished up their 2nd and final scrimmage last Thursday against Springtown! The Varsity will go to Fort Worth on Friday to take on Fort Worth Polytechnic at Clark Stadium starting at 7:30 p.m. for their first game of the season!” We will have a game recap following this being published.

Worrell finished his weekly update with Junior High athletics, adding, “Junior High athletics is also starting up this week! Cross-Country will be running in Brock on Wednesday starting at 5:00 p.m., and Volleyball starts their season off in Benbrook on Thursday.”
