Rams getting regional recognition as the season kicks off this week

Several Rams were named to the Star Telegrams top 100 players to watch this season.

They joined other 3A and 4A players from schools like Brock, Decatur, Glen Rose, Stephenville, and more as the Fort Worth based news source prepares for the beginning of the football season this week.

Seven Rams were given their kudos, along with some accolades and reasons to watch them take the field this season. Preztynn Harrison, the senior tight end, was the first to be named, and for obvious reason. The Texas Tech commit will have a lot of eyes watching him in his final high school year. He is expected to the be the number one target for Owen Gadd who was next up on the list.

Gadd, The senior quarterback will be the starting play caller for the second year in a row, and is poised to lead the team well this season on and off the field. He was named All-Palo Pinto County offensive MVP as a junior and was a District First-Team selection as well and has received an offer from Howard Payne University.

Two other big targets for Gadd this year will be junior Jaidun Fisher, who plays a strong role on both sides of the ball as a receiver and a defensive back and was a Second Team All-District selection for the Rams during his sophomore season. A fellow Second Team pick last year, was Kadin Kaspar, another two-way player for the Rams. Kaspar is a secret weapon for the Rams that is all fundamentals and can make big plays.

Another offensive weapon for the Rams this year is Kayden Montalvo, the senior is expected to be the primary ball carrier for the Rams after the departure of their two-headed monster of Jose Garcia and Jovan Ramirez last season. Montalvo made some big plays for the Rams last year, even with the presence of those guys, as well as some big plays on the defensive side of the ball.

Finally, the defensive representative for the Rams, is junior swiss army knife, Trent Yowell. Yowell was named Defensive newcomer of the year for the district as a sophomore and has only gotten bigger and faster in the off season. Yowell was primarily a defensive end for the Rams, but we can probably expect to see him play some other positions this season.

These seven are just the tip of the iceberg for the Rams, as they have several other returning players and some impressive new faces that will play some key roles including the entire offensive line.
