Record-breaking heat takes hold, burning discouraged

PALO PINTO COUNTY – The U.S. National Weather Service’s forecast calls for top temps throughout Palo Pinto County.

Fire Marshal Chad Jordan is asking residents to hold off on burning today and tomorrow.

“Unseasonably warm weather is forecast for Tuesday, May 13th, and Wednesday, May 14th, with likely reduced humidity,” Jordan stated in a May 12 burn advisory. “Out of an abundance of caution, all burns are strongly discouraged on these two days. Please postpone any planned burning until conditions improve and fire risk decreases.”
