SANTO—Another successful Santo Hometown Christmas is in the books, leaving lifelong holiday memories in its yuletide wake.
The festivities began at 1 p.m. when the event’s market opened at Santo First Baptist Church. There were bounce houses for the kids along with ornament making and writing letters to Santa under the pavilion.
Free hot chocolate and pictures with Santa made for a great afternoon and Mother Nature complimented the event with ideal weather conditions. After the sunset when the stars began twinkling above, a lighted parade made its way through downtown and stopped at the community Christmas tree for its lighting.
The cookie contest had two categories, adults and children. The top two adults were Shirelle Kamaka and Michelle Lane, respectively. The winners of the children’s division were Jason Mullen and Beau Rice.
Thanks to the Santo Community Association for their hard work in organizing this annual Christmas festival.
