The Lady Rams celebrate another '1000'

MINERAL WELLS — Another milestone reached for a Lady Ram on the volleyball court this week, as senior Caylee Cloud matches her teammates 1000 kill mark.

On Tuesday night, Cloud found herself ten kills away from the 1000 mark milestone, something most high school volleyball players never see. But this year, Head Coach Kimberly Branch has two players who have reached it within weeks of each other.

A couple of weeks ago, as the Lady Rams celebrated their seniors on Senior Night, Aryan Perez began her chase for 1000, falling just short by one kill at the end of the night. But early in the following game, she found herself celebrating and after the game was presented a banner and gifts from teammates and family. This week, it was Cloud’s turn.

Cloud has been a key factor in the Lady Rams success during her time as a varsity player and will look to continue as they seek a playoff spot with the season winding down. The Lady Rams are heading into the second half of district play facing earlier opponents for a second time, as they try to better their record and get some key wins and secure their spot in the post season for the fourth season in five years.

The Lady Rams fell short to Graham on Tuesday in four sets. The next home game for Mineral Wells will be Oct. 18 when the Brock Lady Eagles come to town.
